Should health care professionals refuse to perform abortions if the procedure conflicts with religious beliefs? President Bush is trying to protect their beliefs.
WASHINGTON: A last-minute Bush administration plan to grant sweeping new protections to health care providers who oppose abortion and other procedures on religious or moral grounds has provoked a torrent of objections, including a strenuous protest from the government agency that enforces job-discrimination laws.
The proposed rule would prohibit recipients of federal money from discriminating against doctors, nurses and other health care workers who refuse to perform or to assist in the performance of abortions or sterilization procedures because of their “religious beliefs or moral convictions.”

You know, if China collects on its debt, we are all in trouble. . .
Nov. 18 (Bloomberg) — China surpassed Japan in September to become the biggest foreign holder of U.S. Treasuries, as foreign investors sought the relative safety of government debt as stocks plunged 9.1 percent that month.
Total net purchases of long-term equities, notes and bonds increased a net $66.2 billion in September from $21 billion the previous month, the Treasury said today in Washington. Including short-term securities such as stock swaps, foreigners bought a net $143.4 billion, compared with net buying of $21.4 billion the month before.
China led all foreign official investors in September by posting a net increase in U.S. Treasuries for the sixth month in the past seven, bringing its total ownership close to $600 billion. Japan was a net seller of Treasuries for the fourth month in the past six.

We must take special care of our health. Diabetes affects everyone. Check out this news report.
YAHOO NEWS
TRENTON, N.J. – As diabetes is rapidly becoming one of the world’s most common diseases, its financial cost is mounting, too, to well over $200 billion a year in the U.S. alone.
A new study, released Tuesday exclusively to The Associated Press, puts the total at $218 billion last year — the first comprehensive estimate of the financial toll diabetes takes, according to Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk A/S, which paid for the study.
That figure includes direct medical care costs, from insulin and pills for controlling patients’ blood sugar to amputations and hospitalizations, plus indirect costs such as lost productivity, disability and early retirement.

In my first posting under this blog, I wanted to discuss an issue that went below the radar in the past election. It is the Freedom of Choice Act.
THE FAMILY RESEARCH COUNCIL– All sides in the abortion fight agree, if FOCA were to pass both chambers of Congress and be signed by a pro-abortion President, it would, among other effects, provide for taxpayer-funded abortion on demand even late in pregnancy, grant abortionists immunity from legal action, allow abortionists the discretion to perform abortions on minors without notifying a parent, and deny health care workers the right to refuse to make abortion referrals as a matter of conscience.

Unfortunately, if a woman really wants to have an abortion, she can get one. My question to all pro-life Christians is this,
How do we change the hearts of society to treasure life?
Please use the comments section to share your thoughts on how to abstain from sex outside of marriage and to significantly reduce the number of abortions. From this brainstorming I will post a synopsis of ideas and thoughts from your response. It is up to us as Christian women to change hearts by sharing Christ’s love.
Any comments that are pro-choice will not be posted. Also, no negative comments. We must affect change peacefully.
